Meet Shelby!
Shelby is a cheerful neutered male living in Southern California who could be adopted in or out of state if we can figure out a way to transport. A master of the tummy rub (receiving, not giving), he loves people. In fact, he LIVES for people. He's the embodiment of loyalty in a kind of LASSIE-like way -- he's got a Collie quality about him. He's a tall guy for a Sheltie, now a trim forty pounds. He cuts quite a figure, with his flame-red coat and the little white heart marking on his forehead! Our vet ages him at 6-8 years old (as of December 2014), based on his excellent teeth and clear bright eyes.
Shelby adores walks and needs a home that will provide them. Luckily he loves walks. In fact, anything he can do with his person or people will be fine with him. He'd be fine for a couple or a single, for an apartment or a house.
Shelby would prefer an only-dog home and takes a daily allergy medication. Shelby is not an athlete, so not the dog for you if you're looking for a companion in hiking and jogging, etc.
